FAQ

How do you start Leave None Alive in Phantom Blade Zero?
In the Village of Lu. Helping Old Man Gen at the valley fork grants the tale per Maxroll's walkthrough, and the dying Wounded Thief near the Smuggler's Tunnel Entrance bell updates it. Gaming ProMax notes his dialogue option 'Any Other Requests?' formally accepts the investigation.
What does the Thief's Manual do and who gets it?
It is a story item, not gear. Kill the remaining thieves at the Crimson Forest Thieves' Camp — Maxroll has the Manual drop after the third one near Quick Hand Zhang's hideout, AllThingsHow measures it 38 meters from the bell — then hand it to the Wounded Thief in the Village of Lu.
What is the reward for Leave None Alive?
Two accessories: Arrowward, a defensive accessory that reduces ranged damage and Sha-Chi depletion taken by 20 percent, for the Thief's Manual hand-in, and the Agarwood Prayer Beads support accessory for delivering Huijue's relic to the Kuye Temple monk at Survivors' Courtyard.
Is Leave None Alive missable?
The Wounded Thief dies as the Village of Lu finale progresses, and Gaming ProMax reports the lockout is believed to trigger when you enter the village well — hand the Manual in before descending. The other relic deliveries stay open.

The Thief’s Manual waits at the turned Crimson Forest Thieves’ Camp, and its owner waits to die by the Smuggler’s Tunnel

Leave None Alive is Phantom Blade Zero’s most efficient errand chain: one dying thief, two dead men’s relics, three regions, and two accessories for your trouble — including Arrowward, a defensive accessory you cannot get any other way. The tale’s subtitle reads “Fallen leaves in an empty courtyard, lingering shadows of the past,” and that is the job: return to the camps the story emptied out and bury what is left of their people.

It is also quietly missable, which is why this page exists. The full chain below is stitched together from Maxroll’s Village of Lu walkthrough, Gaming ProMax’s Thief’s Manual guide, and KeenGamer’s All 33 Tales table, because no single source documents every hand-in.

How the Tale Starts

Leave None Alive begins in the Village of Lu, not in the forest. Per Maxroll’s walkthrough, when you help Old Man Gen at the valley fork, the tale enters your log pointing you back to Weeping Creek Valley and the Crimson Forest Thieves’ Camp to investigate what happened there. As you push toward the Smuggler’s Tunnel Entrance bell, you also find the dying Wounded Thief slumped by a barred gate; talking to him updates both the main quest and this tale. Gaming ProMax flags the acceptance detail: in his dialogue, choose “Any Other Requests?” — “Leave” closes the conversation without starting anything.

The in-game objective list (per wikily’s quest data) has five beats: investigate the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost and the Crimson Forest Camp, find Monk Huijue of Kuye Temple, bring Huijue’s relic to the Kuye Temple monk in the Village of Lu, and give the thief’s relic to his companion.

Relic 1: The Thief’s Manual at the Thieves’ Camp

Fast travel to the Thieves’ Camp bell in Crimson Forest — the same camp from Honor Among Thieves, now turned. The tale will not resolve what happened until you do:

  • Kill the remaining thieves. Maxroll’s route has the Thief’s Manual story item drop once the camp’s holdouts are dead — the third thief, right by Quick Hand Zhang’s hideout entrance. AllThingsHow measures the drop at roughly 38 meters from the Thieves’ Camp bell, and notes the Manual only appears once the camp has turned, so if you cleared the camp on an earlier visit, come back after the tale is live.
  • While you are here, the camp is also a stop on the Quick Hand Zhang treasure route and the prison below the bridge hides a Brass Chest Guard behind crossbow traps — Maxroll recommends the Bastion Phantom Edge to walk through them.

Relic 2: Huijue’s Prayer Beads at the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost

The second relic belongs to a monk. The Stately Monk at the Survivors’ Courtyard tree asks you to check on his brother Huijue at the valley Outpost — per KeenGamer, you find Monk Huijue of Kuye Temple there among what is left of the Mandate disciples.

Teleport to the Outpost bell in Weeping Creek Valley and clear the camp. Defeating the Monk awards the Prayer Beads the tale needs, per both Maxroll and Gaming ProMax. Then carry them back to the Village of Lu.

The Two Hand-Ins

Order does not matter, but both are required to close the tale:

  1. Survivors’ Courtyard: give Huijue’s relic to the Kuye Temple monk by the tree. Fextralife notes the dialogue choice “Do Not Believe” is the correct branch here. The reward is the Agarwood Prayer Beads, a support accessory per Maxroll.
  2. Smuggler’s Tunnel Entrance: give the Thief’s Manual to the Wounded Thief. He takes his companion’s keepsake, pays you, and dies on the spot — the scene is the point of the title. The reward is Arrowward, and the tale completes.

Arrowward: What the Defensive Accessory Does

Arrowward’s card effect, per AllThingsHow’s transcription: reduces ranged damage and Sha-Chi depletion taken by 20 percent. The flavor text tells you exactly who owned it — a thief who scaled walls for a living and survived the hidden arrows meant for his throat. In practice it slots into any of your three accessory slots as a budget defensive pick for crossbow-heavy stretches, and like every accessory it can be polished; the full lineup is cataloged in our all accessories guide.

The Missable Warning

The Wounded Thief is the pressure point. He dies as the Village of Lu finale progresses — our Village of Lu walkthrough flags him as dying if you wait. Gaming ProMax reports the exact trigger as community-unconfirmed but believes the quest locks when you enter the village well, the route that ends the region. The safe play costs five minutes: the moment the tale is live, teleport to the Thieves’ Camp, grab the Manual, and hand it in before you ever jump into the Well of the Three Puppets. If you have already descended, Arrowward is gone until New Game+.

Why Completionists Pair It With Four Fierce Axes

Leave None Alive is not just an accessory run — it physically opens another quest. The seventh and final Four Axes case file sits in The Lady’s Cave behind the barrier you could not pass in the valley, and per our Four Fierce Axes walkthrough, that route only unblocks once Leave None Alive sends you back to the Outpost. Maxroll’s cleanup route chains them in one sweep: Outpost for the case file and the Monk fight, then the Thieves’ Camp for the Manual, then home. Two tales, two accessories, one temper material — a full inventory page for a single lap of old ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Leave None Alive have a trophy?

No trophy is attached. Its rewards are the Arrowward and Agarwood Prayer Beads accessories; the trophy-bearing Village of Lu tales are The Journey Home and Young Master Lan.

Where exactly is the Wounded Thief?

Beside the barred gate near the Smuggler’s Tunnel Entrance bell, past Master Bi Hai’s arena — AllThingsHow measures about 43 meters from the Hidden Passage to Pangzhen bell.

I cleared the Thieves’ Camp early and got no Manual. Why?

The drop only spawns once the tale is active and the camp has turned. Return after the Wounded Thief gives you the investigation.
