Who Is Heartpiercer, Elite Shadow Warden?
Heartpiercer is the third and final Shadow Warden — the closing entry in the Three Wardens Fall bronze trophy after Cavalrybane and Soulclaimer. Game8 files him as a main boss of Meigu Lake, and AllThingsHow’s boss list records him at level 20 with 115,200 HP on Pathbreaker. His in-game archive entry sketches a survivor rather than a zealot: before Zuo Shang became the Shadow Sovereign, Heartpiercer was an unremarkable Shadow Warden, and only after the coup was he entrusted with guarding the White Serpent House. He is always composed — against the strong he calmly studies and dismantles their techniques; against the weak, his composure is not mercy but indifference. He weighs only how a situation affects his own advance or retreat. The archive leaves the obvious question hanging: was it his composure that earned Zuo Shang’s trust, or a “special arrangement” — and is Heartpiercer’s fate already part of Zuo Shang’s design?
Mechanically he is the Warden template at its most aggressive: twin heavy axes, spinning thrown blades, and red-flash attacks that punish greedy blocking. And unlike the first two Wardens, he hides behind a locked door in one of the game’s most involved collect chains.
Where to Find Heartpiercer: The Hidden White Serpent House
The White Serpent House sits on an island at the eastern edge of Meigu Lake, and reaching its courtyard is a quest in itself:
- Sail to the White Serpent House Dock (the boat from the Sha-Chi Powered Boat tale is required). GameSpot pegs the den on the island at the eastern part of the lake.
- Fight up the bamboo yard — AllThingsHow’s fight guide counts two White Shadow Wardens in the yard and a third by the bell. Ring the White Serpent House bell before anything else; it is your respawn point, roughly 25 meters from the arena per pbz.gg.
- A few steps from the bell, a carved lattice double door needs the Loong Emblem: its yin half lies in the Red Serpent House (Crimson Forest, behind Flaming Mane-burnt brambles) and its yang half in the Black Serpent House (Village of Lu). The halves combine automatically.
- Push the door open to reveal a stone-paved courtyard ringed with bamboo and stone lanterns. Heartpiercer crouches in the middle; approach him to trigger the fight. The White Serpent Eye — your reason for coming — lies in the room past him.
Our Meigu Lake walkthrough covers the sailing route and the region’s full bell network if you are still charting the lake.
Heartpiercer’s Attacks and Counters
Game8’s strategy is built around one observation: most of Heartpiercer’s melee and ranged attacks are blockable, so the default posture is defensive — hold block, let his strings play out, and read the combo-ending glints. The dangerous sequences:
- Backflip red-glint attack — he springs backward and cuts on the glint. Treat it as a combo ender: keep blocking, then punish the recovery.
- Swift left-hand red-glint pierce — a fast thrust out of neutral. Do not try to attack into it; answer it after the fact.
- Sha-Chi-draining jump kick into blue-glint spin — Game8 calls this his most lethal sequence. The kick drains your Sha-Chi on hit; the spinning follow-up carries the blue flash. Dodge the kick on sight, and if it lands anyway, parry the spin to survive the string.
AllThingsHow’s empirical damage notes sharpen the picture. His lunging axe slash opens close strings (about 140 HP on Wayfarer). After any close hit, expect the airborne blade stream — he vaults away and sprays spinning blades that chip 245 to 315 HP if you drop guard early; hold guard until every blade is past. At range he flashes red before a five-hit blade volley worth roughly 400 HP on Wayfarer: because the projectiles travel, dodge late, when the blades nearly reach you, not on the flash. Up close, a red-flash forward spin takes 350 HP per contact on Pathbreaker — a quarter of a 1,402 HP health bar — and cannot be parried. Roll out of it.
How to Beat Heartpiercer: Strategy
Play patient and positional. Stay at mid-range so his volley triggers on a timer you can read, dodge it late, and close in only for his recovery. In melee, block the strings rather than trading, punish the combo ender with two or three hits, and bank a Power Surge for when his stagger bar cracks. The single biggest damage source in the fight is the melee-slash-into-blade-stream sequence — treat every close-range hit as the start of a string, keep your guard raised, and heal only after he has finished a throw and moved well away. If blocking is draining you, remember the combat system guide’s rule of thumb: blue flashes are parries, red flashes are dodges, and chip damage is a loan you repay in Sha-Chi.
Rewards: Sundering Dual Axes and the White Serpent Eye
The kill pays out twice. Sundering Dual Axes is a Common dual-wield main weapon — pbz.gg lists 312 base damage scaling to 2,153, with 118 to 815 Guard Break — built around Baleful Aura buildup with lingering attacks, per our all weapons list. See the dedicated Sundering Dual Axes page for stats, arts, and builds.
The White Serpent Eye is a key item, not a weapon: with the Red Serpent Tongue and Black Serpent Fang already in your pack, it completes the Serpent Door set.
The Serpent House Collect Chain
Do not sail away after the weapon card. GameSpot’s Serpent House roundup lists what the White Serpent House still holds: a Treasure Basin accessory in the small building to the right, a Sha-Chi Amber Fragment behind it, the Serpent Slough: White Soul Tempering material, the White Serpent Eye itself, and two of Leng Tu’s Memory Flowers. The fourth and final piece of the chain is automatic: the four Serpent fragments you have gathered combine into the Serpent’s Memory, the Soul Temper material for the White Serpent & Crimson Viper.
Carry the three Serpent pieces back to the Green Serpent House in Pangzhen, socket them into the ornate serpent door, and a hidden passage opens toward the Mirage Estate. GameSpot and Gamerant both flag the same warning: this is a point of no return, and several side quests can fail abruptly past it. Finish open business first.
Three Wardens Fall: The Finale
With Heartpiercer down, the chain closes: Cavalrybane at Pangzhen’s market quarter, Soulclaimer at the Dockside Warehouse, and Heartpiercer at the White Serpent House. The Three Wardens Fall bronze trophy — “Defeat the three Shadow Wardens: Cavalrybane, Soulclaimer, and Heartpiercer” — pops only on this final kill, so if the first two Wardens died trophy-less, that was by design. Track the rest of the list in our trophy guide and the full boss list.
