Honor Among Thieves Walkthrough - Silent Wrap Reward

Honor Among Thieves is a short, sharp Crimson Forest tale about delivering a dead man’s last words — but it sits inside the nastiest missable cluster in Phantom Blade Zero. Five tales share one deadline: Bai Chilian, the region’s final boss. Clear the whole board before that fight and the Silent Wrap is a pleasant ten-minute errand; skip it and a single boss kill wipes the letter, its reward, and four other quests with it.

How to Start: The Nimble Thief’s Blood Letter

Reach the Outlaw Trap Bell in Crimson Forest — the midpoint checkpoint of the region, covered in the Crimson Forest walkthrough. From the bell, take the path that curves up the hill to the right, past the cave, and continue until you find a lone enemy tending a campfire. Defeat him.

Beside the fire lies the body of the Nimble Thief. Loot it for the Blood Letter, his last words written in blood, and the tale enters your journal: “Deliver the Nimble Thief’s blood letter to his brother, the Gentle Thief.”

There is no quest giver to miss, no exclamation mark to overlook — just a corpse on a hill. If you ran past the campfire on your way through the forest, go back before leaving the region.

Deliver the Letter to the Gentle Thief

The Gentle Thief waits in the Thieves’ Camp, deeper into the forest — which means going through Jing Ye, the Outlaw, the mounted boss whose arena gates the camp approach (see our Jing Ye boss guide for the fight itself, including how his horse phase works). Beyond Jing Ye, cross the long rope bridge south of his arena to reach the camp.

From the bridge entrance:

1. Enter the camp and head to the house immediately right of the bridge (Game8’s routing crosses the bridge into the small village and enters the right-hand house; Fextralife describes the same stop as the tent on the camp’s right side).
2. Inside sits the Gentle Thief, crouched among his dead brother’s belongings. Speak to him and show the Blood Letter.

He will not take your word for it. To prove you actually knew his brother, he quizzes you on the letter’s contents.

The Gentle Thief’s Three Questions — All Correct Answers

Read the letter if you want the context, or use this table:

A wrong answer ends the conversation — that is all it does. There is no penalty and no lockout; talk to him again and he restarts the quiz from the first question. All three must be correct in one pass to receive your reward.

Reward: The Silent Wrap

Answer all three correctly and the Gentle Thief thanks Soul on his brother’s behalf, promising to repay the debt. The reward card appears with an accessory slot picker:

Silent Wrap — Support accessory: reduces noise from footsteps and Assassinations by 50%. Its flavor text tells of the thief who once wore it, vaulting over high walls and darting across rooftops, yet lingering on lonely nights unable to leave the lights of a distant home.

For stealth builds it is one of the most practical accessories in the game: assassinations from behind become safer to chain, and patrols notice your movement noticeably later. Equip it through the slot picker immediately or later from the inventory.

The Bai Chilian Deadline: One Boss, Five Tales

Here is why this “small” tale matters. Per keengamer’s missable roundup and the missable quests checklist, defeating Bai Chilian fails five tales at once:

• Honor Among Thieves — this letter and the Silent Wrap.
• Purge the Sect — the Brooding Old Archer’s Broken-String Bow errand in Weeping Creek Valley.
• Festering Secret — the Mandate evidence hand-offs in the valley.
• A Healer’s Mercy — the third leg of Yu’er’s Healer’s Legacy chain.
• Flesh Lily’s final hand-in — the last step of that same trophy chain.

On top of those, Secrets of the Baishan Sect must at least be accepted before Bai Chilian or its trophy is gone too. The safe habit: when the main path points you at Bai Chilian, open your Journal, and sweep every red-flagged region tale first. Bai Chilian himself is also the wall that gates Quick Hand Zhang’s Crimson Forest treasures, so a pre-boss sweep pays double.

What happens if I answer a question wrong?

Nothing bad. The conversation ends, you talk to him again, and the quiz restarts from question one. You cannot soft-lock or lose the reward.

Is Honor Among Thieves required for any trophy?

Not directly — the Silent Wrap carries no achievement. But it is one of the five tales wiped by Bai Chilian, and completionists clearing the 33-tales roster need it done before that fight regardless.

Where is the Thieves’ Camp exactly?

Past Jing Ye’s arena at the far end of the long rope bridge south of the Outlaw Trap route. The camp has its own bell and the tale marker sits beside it on the Crimson Forest map, so once discovered you can fast travel back for the quiz at any time before Bai Chilian.
