How the Arsenal Works
Phantom Blade Zero ships with about 30 primary weapons and a separate arsenal of 20 to 25 Phantom Edges. Soul carries two main weapons at once, and swapping mid-fight throws a quick attack and fully refills Sha-Chi — so your loadout is really a pairing, not a pick. Almost every weapon is a boss drop; the exceptions are Soul’s starting blades, two weapon racks in Weeping Creek Valley, and the Soul Tempered transformations. Weapons come in three classes — One-Handed, Two-Handed, and Dual-Wield — and each unlocks traits at levels 5, 10, 15, 25, and 30, with a unique Soul Tempering form on top. This page catalogs the primary weapons; for R2 tools see the Phantom Edge catalog, and for what to run first see the best early-game weapons.

| Sanguine | One-Handed | Starting weapon | Soul’s own Order blade; straightforward and dependable. |
| Sanguine Twin | Dual-Wield | Weapon rack past Yu’er at the waterfall (Weeping Creek Valley) | Forge’s fast twin remake of the Sanguine; reach traded for speed. |
| Sanguine Reach | Two-Handed | Rack behind Forge at the Outpost | The long-blade Sanguine for fighting crowds. |

| White Serpent & Crimson Viper | Dual-Wield | Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents (received in Village of Lu) | S-tier mismatched pair; the short blade becomes a flying finisher. |
| Tianxuan Bronze Sword | One-Handed | Master Bi Yuan (Village of Lu) | Cheap blocking, no parrying — a guard-build specialist. |
| Fiend Saws | Dual-Wield | Mu Xiaokui’s additional phase, all 5 ribbons (Village of Lu) — MISSABLE | S-tier burst: Fiend-Aura Erosion and unblockable Fiend Form. |
| Wild Oriole Sword | One-Handed | Dock after Mu Xiaokui’s full encounter — MISSABLE | Blade-wave aggression; grab it before the elevator breaks. |

| Baishan Stormswords | Dual-Wield | Yubi, No. 21 Swordfighter Puppet (Mandate Encampment) | Wind-and-Thunder gauges; fill both for Baishan’s Blessing and Lightning Storm. |
| Sundering Dual Axes | Dual-Wield | Heartpiercer, Elite Shadow Warden (Meigu Lake) | Baleful Aura buildup with lingering attacks. |
| Whiteshadow | Two-Handed | Four Acolyte Masks → hidden mirror → Blizzard Blademaster (Meigu Lake) | Ice control: Frost Gauge, freezing, and teleports to frozen enemies. |
| Juggernaut | Two-Handed | Bi Feng, Giant Saber Commander (Mountain of Imprisonment) | The parry greatsword — Red Edge stacks off successful deflects. |
| Seamless Death | Dual-Wield | Jade-Face (Mountain of Imprisonment) | Twin bladed rings that fight at range; upgraded throws warp your dodge. |
| Freezing Chaos | One-Handed | Triple Threat quest → Yucong, No. 34 Twisted Puppet rematch (Mirrorwood) | Three switchable forms — Steel, Frost, Chaos — the late-game technician’s pick. |
| Crescent Blade | Two-Handed | Yuding, No. 12 Crescent Blade Puppet (Mirage Estate) | Qinglong Form grants Qinglong Cleave — one-hit kills on weaker enemies. |
| Bonesaw | Two-Handed | The Crusher and The Saw (Mount Soulrend) | Community mapping in progress. |
| The Lady’s Fan | Dual-Wield | Meng Hua, Merciful Lady of the Blossom Veil (Mount Soulrend) | Final-sequence reward; community mapping in progress. |
| Aureate | One-Handed | Zho Shang beyond the golden portal (true ending, Mount Soulrend) | Golden swords embed on Sha-Chi hits; five trigger a Sword Energy Burst. |
Soul Tempered Forms
Three “new” weapons are actually transformations of existing blades via Soul Tempering — plan materials around them:
| Form | Base weapon | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| The Fanatic’s Drunken Sword | The Fanatic’s Broken Blade | Temper with Fanatic’s Obsession — flying sword damage no longer falls off with distance. |
| Blazing Edge | Sanguine Reach | Scorching Flame fragments (Zhu Yuan + Midlake Loong Pillar challenge), tempered through Myst. |
| Infernal Rouge | Sanguine | Temper the starting blade through Myst in Pangzhen. |
The Missable Two
Only two weapons can be lost for a playthrough, both in the Village of Lu: the Fiend Saws (collect all five ribbons before Mu Xiaokui’s fight) and the Wild Oriole Sword (on the dock immediately after). Everything else stays obtainable through the endgame — the Fiend Saws guide walks the ribbon route step by step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need every weapon for trophies? Several weapons have individual usage achievements (trigger Fiend-Aura Erosion, enter the Drunk state, and so on), so completionists will at minimum equip each one once. Full achievement mapping is community work in progress.
Which weapons should I upgrade first? Materials refund fully (a Weapon Reforge Talisman is needed from level 10 up), so experiment freely. Community consensus early picks are covered in the best early-game weapons guide.
Are weapon drop rates random? No — every weapon above is a guaranteed reward from its listed source.
